Hydrogen

Hydrogen plays a significant role in global efforts to decarbonize our world. Across the U.S., states express their strong support for advancing hydrogen by investing in the next generation of clean technology, giving hydrogen an even stronger role in the energy transition.

Tallgrass is at the forefront of innovative hydrogen testing and development. As a majority owner in Escalante H2 Power, Tallgrass is developing a first-of-its-kind, hydrogen-to-power project by converting a retired coal-fired power plant to a clean hydrogen-fired power generation facility.

Additionally, Tallgrass’ team is working with industry leaders as part of a multi-member conglomerate to develop a hydrogen demonstration project to supply a natural gas power generation facility with green or blue hydrogen. In recognition of the project’s potential, the Wyoming Energy Authority awarded the team a grant to help fund their efforts.
