A Division Order is an instrument which sets forth the proportional ownership in a carbon sequestration unit.
You are receiving a Division Order because property in which you have an interest has been made a part of a unitized area as approved by the
Wyoming Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (WOGCC).
Injection fee payments will be made to the pore space owners pursuant to the Unitization Agreement approved by the WOGCC.
A valid Tax Identification Number (TIN) or Social Security Number (SSN) must be provided to Tallgrass for reporting and identification purposes. If the appropriate TIN is not received, Tallgrass is required to withhold 28% (30% for foreign residents) of your payment and remit it to the IRS. If you do not wish to supply your TIN/SSN, please make note in the TIN/SSN section of the Division Order/Transfer Order.
Checks are mailed quarterly.
When an individual’s name changes because of marriage, divorce, etc. please furnish a copy of the marriage certificate, death certificate, or other document effecting the name change.
When a company has a name change, Tallgrass requires a recorded copy of the Certificate of Name Change. If the change is due to a merger, please furnish a recorded copy of the Certificate of Merger.
Tallgrass will require a copy of the divorce decree and copies of the conveyances recorded in the county where the property is located.
If an owner is declared incompetent, please furnish Letters of Guardianship issued by the local court. When a minor reaches legal age we will require a copy of the minor’s birth certificate.
For a full or partial conveyance we will require a copy of the conveyance document recorded in the county and state where the subject property is located.
Tallgrass policy prevents the transfer of payments without a copy of the recorded deed, conveyance or assignment.
When an owner dies without a will, furnish as many of the following documents:

When an owner dies with a will which has been admitted to probate proceedings in the same state where the producing property is located, furnish as many of the following documents as possible:
In some situations, other documents determined by Tallgrass Division Order Department may be needed.
Tallgrass will require a copy of the Death Certificate. Please furnish the new Social Security or Tax Identification number for the surviving joint tenant.
When an owner of a life estate dies, Tallgrass will require a copy of the Death Certificate and the names, addresses and Social Security numbers of the persons who own the remainder and who succeed to the interest.
In some situations, Tallgrass will need further information including the documents that created the life estate and named successors.
Unclaimed property refers to the unpaid amounts associated with suspended and/or unknown owners, which must be reported to various states after statutorily defined periods of time have elapsed due to no contact. Pursuant to state law, funds will be escheated to the state of last known residence. Each state has a database for unclaimed property reporting. You may search “unclaimed property” and your state of residence.
The best option to change your address is to mail or email the below. Please include the owner’s full name, the old address, and the new address.
